Question
I am a student looking for information on the international meetings market. Could you provide me with some information?

Answer

The ICCA Statistics Report includes figures illustrating the global meetings industry scene, such as the top convention countries and cities according to number of meetings held, numbers of participants and analysis of the economic value of meetings. It also provides background information on ICCA, the ICCA Association Database and ICCA Membership benefits.

The full ICCA Statistics Report is available to ICCA members only. Non-members can download the ICCA Statistics Report for non-member press, consultants, universities and students. This is an abstract of the ICCA Statistics Report (in PDF) and contains only the highlights of the full report.

ICCA also publishes various ICCA Resource Publications, which can be requested to ICCA Head Office by students.

The best introductory textbook on the meetings industry we know is Conferences and Conventions, a global industry, 3rd edition (2013). Author: Tony Rogers. The book is part of the Events Management series published by Routledge, Taylor & Francis Group. The book can be ordered online at www.routledge.com.

Another nook we highly recomment is “Into the Heart of Meetings”, written by Mike van der Vijver and Eric de Groot. A book about the novel profession of Meeting Designer and about the principles underlying that profession. For more information on the book please visit the website: www.mindmeeting.org
