The CCL Congress Center Leipzig is part of the Leipziger Messe new Exhibition and Convention Centre which was opened in April 1996. Five exhibition halls of 20,000 sqm each total an exhibition space of 100,000 sqm. Due to their flexibility, these halls are frequently used to accommodate purpose-built auditoria for large meetings of several thousand delegates. The architects were Gerkan, Marg und Partner who have considerable experience in planning logistically complex edifices like airports, train stations and sports arenas. The Glass Hall, a futuristic steel-and-glass construction and the landmark of the property, was designed by British star architect Ian Ritchie who also designed the Louvre Pyramid in Paris. The CCL building is one of the most modern and attractive meeting facilities in Europe. Set in a park landscape, the venue features architectural beauty and latest-generation media and telecommunication technology. 23 halls and rooms on four levels, together with spacious multi-purpose rooms and foyers, offer maximum scope for a novel and creative layout of the ICCA Congress.
