El Yunque Rainforest Walking Tour El Yunque is the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System.  Spanning 11.331 h. (28.000 acres) and reaching an elevation of 1.104 m. (3.624 feet), the area receives over 100 billion gallons of rainfall each year. In El Yunque you will see many unique sights and hear many unique sounds unsurpassed by any of the natural wonders.
