The ICCA Iberian Chapter was created in the early 90s after years participating amongst other colleagues in the Mediterranean Chapter.
All Spanish and Portuguese ICCA Members at that time thought about joining forces together in order to create an Iberian Chapter that could attract to both countries new business opportunities.
Attracting new congresses and events to Spain and Portugal has been the aim of the Chapter since then. Moreover the need to create win-win situations and the great offer both countries present, makes the Iberian Peninsula and its islands one of the most attractive locations in Europe for congresses.
After many years new hotels, Convention Centres, PCOs, Convention Bureaus, Agencies and Companies from the travel Industry have become new members of ICCA and therefore the Chapter has grown too.
The Chapter is organised and represented by a Chairperson and a Executive Committee that handle several marketing and sales tools. Every two years the Chair alternates between both countries.
