Bird of pray show
You find the very nicely laid out eagle vantage point in the game park path, 10 minutes by foot from the Pfänder cable car mountain station or the Restaurant Berghaus Pfänder. The aim of the eagle vantage point is to give an understanding of the birds of prey to the visitors and to provide information about these miraculous animals. The birds which are shown were not taken from the free hunting-ground, but come completely from breeding. In a 35-minute presentation you experience the birds of prey in flight along the Pfänder slopes. After breathtaking flights the birds return to the falconer who stands right in front of you. Behaviour and way of life of these endangered animals are explained in detail.
The bird of prey-flight viewing takes place every day except in foggy weather. Times: 11.00 am and 2.30 pm.

Rappenloch Gorge and Alploch Gorge, Dornbirn
Both gorges, with their wild crags above and below the Staufen reservoir with its overwhelming nature. attract many visitors every year.
Starting from the “mammoth tree” in Gütle at an altitude of 41 m, you can hike through the Rappenloch and Alploch gorges up to the Ebnit road in just an hour. Those who are up for more can extend the trip and visit the “Kirchle” (little church), an overhanging gorge that was formed toward the end of the ice age.
As a matter of interest at the beginning of the gorge walk, the path follows the pressure pipeline that carried water to the textile company F.M. Hämmerle’s power plant. These old pipelines made out of riveted sheet iron have since then become a technical showpiece. The power plant Ebensand is still working today and has provided Dornbirn with electricity since 1901.

Bregenzerwald
Amazing! The Bregenzerwald inhabitants have succeeded in protecting the appearance of their landscape from any construction sins of all kinds. To the joy of hikers and skiers. Here, too, old architecture — the typical wooden shingled farmhouses — harmonizes perfectly with the buildings of the new Vorarlberg architecture.
