Asia Pacific Regional Office
27 January 2006
Dear Members,
Happy 2006!
We have a full year ahead of us, and we are hoping that you will ?catch the ball and run with us?!
The year started with a meeting of all ICCA Regional Offices with Head Office in Amsterdam, and ICCA President Christian Mutschlechner was also present as CEO Martin Sirk put all of us through the strategic execution of ICCA Visions. In view of key developments in ICCA DATA, both regional researchers Daniela (Latin America) and Angela (Asia Pacific) were also present. The meeting ended with a farewell for Leanne Hall (Events) who will leave ICCA on 2 Feb for Norway, at our PPO (Professional Party Organiser) party. It was a ?gezellig? evening alright.
All Asia Pacific members will have received our list of activities for 2006. We will follow up with a PDF document with more details by early February 2006. We have a mix of ICCA DATA workshops, youth programmes, educational seminars, and several business-focus events lined up. We hope to work closely with all our membership, and help translate those ICCA benefits directly to you.
In addition to the above mix, in the pipeline is also an Asian Youth Forum, an ICCA specialist workshop for Centres and Convention Hotels, plus a business workshop for Japan and Korean members. We hope to also bring forward, by one year, the 2nd edition of Asia Pacific Association Meetings Mart which will be opened (subject to some terms) to all members in Asia Pacific in every category. Negotiations for the above are currently ongoing, and we will keep all of you updated.
We have already launched our package offer for participating in IT&CMA 2006 under the ICCA Pavilion, and interested members, beyond the Asia Pacific region, have indicated interest to be part of our Pavilion.
All in all, we see a very busy year, full of opportunities, ahead for our members.
In the meantime, if you need any support from our Asia Pacific regional office to help you with your ICCA membership, please do not hesitate to contact us anytime.
In conjunction with Chinese New Year, Awal Muharram and Federal Territory Day public holidays, our office in Kuala Lumpur will be closed from 28 Jan up to 2 Feb 2006.
To all those celebrating the Lunar New Year, Kong Hee Fatt Choy ? may the Year of the Fire Dog bring you happiness, prosperity and success.
