Invitation to IMEX – Don’t miss out
The eighth IMEX will open in Frankfurt shortly (on May 25th) and the award-winning trade show is promising to offer more business and networking opportunities, together with a bigger and more varied educational programme than ever before.
IMEX Association Day has just a few places remaining. IMEX is unique as a meetings and incentive travel trade show as it regularly attracts a core audience of association meeting planners who make up 12% of all buyers and visitors to the show. One of the attractions is Association Day which provides a tailor-made programme of presentations and round-table workshops on association-led topics, many of which are developed in consultation with ICCA members. This year it will also include the first phase findings of the new Convention 2020 global research study, whose co-founding sponsors are IMEX and ICCA. Fast Future CEO, Rohit Talwar, will provide some fascinating insights into how the meetings and conventions market is going to take shape over the next decade and highlight the emerging trends that are going to generate the biggest opportunities for the conventions market but also present the biggest challenges. The day ends with the always popular Association Evening where association executives have the opportunity to network with top exhibitors from across the globe.
A strong run-up to the opening of IMEX 2010 has also seen a significant number of new exhibitors recently deciding to take space at the trade show together with an upturn in stand increases from existing exhibitors. 62 exhibitors have increased the size of their stands compared to 2009 and a total of 29 new stands with hundreds of new exhibitors will be present. In addition 45 new hosted buyer groups have been confirmed since last year which puts the show on target for over 3,700 hosted buyers. All buyers are also guaranteed to stay longer at the show this year thanks to a combination of new travel arrangements and added fam trips before and after the show.
As IMEX Group Chairman, Ray Bloom, comments: “Now that the first quarter of the year is nearly complete we have seen a fresh surge of interest. We often speak about the importance of sentiment in this industry, but now more than ever we are beginning to see real optimism returning – and the marketing and promotional behaviour from exhibitors to prove it. There has been a marked change in demand during this quarter and it is not confined to a couple of regions or market sectors. It’s across the board.”
